Shabu-Shabu on West End Avenue is where Nashville dips into an engaging hot pot and Korean BBQ experience that’s best shared. This spot specializes in interactive dining, offering tables equipped for grilling and simmering a variety of fresh meats, seafood, and vegetables right before you. Whether you’re new to hot pot or a seasoned fan, the range of savory broths—like miso and Szechuan spicy—gives each visit a slightly different flavor profile to explore.

The layout encourages a lively, communal vibe, making it a solid pick for groups looking to dine at a relaxed pace while chatting and cooking at their own rhythm. Locals often choose the combo option to balance between grilling tender slices of pork belly and steak, and simmering delicate octopus or mussels in the hot pot. The addition of sushi and raw fish selections adds variety if you want to expand beyond the traditional hot pot rotation.

Service tends to be attentive without hovering, which works well for guests wanting to focus on the interactive nature of their meal. While parking is a bit tight directly outside, nearby parking structures are convenient for those driving in from other parts of the city.

The atmosphere here isn’t overly formal nor rushed; it strikes a balance suitable for casual dinners with friends or a low-key date night with something a bit different than your typical Nashville eats. The menu’s reasonable prices and wide choice—from richer broths to lighter miso soup, plus sweet touches like green tea or lychee ice cream—make it easy to tailor the meal to your appetite.

For anyone curious about Korean BBQ or hot pot but not wanting to commit to one style alone, Shabu-Shabu offers a comfortable, hands-on introduction with plenty of local buzz. The best time to visit is early evening, especially if you want a lively atmosphere without the late-night rush. This isn’t just about food; it’s a dining experience that turns cooking into a social event, fitting nicely into Nashville’s diverse culinary scene.

Service was really quick, many fresh foods to cook for They even provide kobe beef for the hotpot. Parking spots are a little bit limited, but there is a parking building nearby Prices are reasonable. The chicken soup broth is really flavorful The tomato is sweet.

Alright, so me and the word witch took the two oldest heathens up to nashville for a little trip to the weird al concert and we decided we wanted to try something new for dinner before the show. After a little bit of researching between our airbnb and the concert venue, None of us had ever tried anything like this before, so The Angry Teen sweet talked this into trying Shabu-Shabu. This joint reminded me of several places I'd visited while stationed on Okinawa back in the 90s. Shabu-Shabu has that sane kind of vibe, and the setup was a lot like the Mongolian buffet places, where you pay a flat rate and pick the grub you want to cook. So many choices between meats, veggies, spices, fixings, sushi and the monster mud bugs were Icing on top. We will be back to give it another go. And if you do try this place out, ask for Jess, she is a fountain of knowledge that put up with our newbie questions like a champ.

I absolutely loved Shabu Shabu! You can either choose to do the Shabu Shabu which is hot pot, the Korean BBQ, or the combo of both. All of my friends and I opted to do both since it was our first time going. There’s a huge buffet of foods to choose from and you can get as much as you want from it. Then you bring it to your table to cook on either the BBQ plates or broths of your choosing. I picked the Tonkatsu which will probably be my go to choice. I also tried the Szechuan spicy which was very spicy! If you’re not great on spice like me, probably not the way to go. Nice to try a little taste though. In addition to the regular things for hot pot and KBBQ they also have some sushi options which is a fun addition. While definitely not the point of the restaurant, the desserts were definitely a little lacking. I wanted a sweet treat at the end of my meal, but there wasn’t really an option that quite caught my eye. All that being said, my friends and I all had such a great time and I’m definitely so excited to go back. It is a little expensive, but I thought it was worth it. Our server was also so nice and helpful especially since we were all brand new to the process. One thing to be creative about is parking. The parking garage next to the restaurant used to be free, but it seems that it has switched to paid within the last few months. For two hours in the garage it was about $10. There is paid street parking which is a little cheaper.

Stopped in for dinner with the family. Had the AYCE grill option. One big grill in the middle of the table to cook. Excellent heat control. Used the hotpot stations as places to store the plates. Bulgogi station was empty for sometime before refilling; also not as flavorful as expected. Made sure to eat my fill’s worth.

Probably the best hotpot I've ever been to. The kimchi was so super addictive too because it was very tasty and fresh. We didn't take pics of the food but here's the aftermath. Veggie sides were on point!
